Yuta Higuchi (M1) presented his research titled "Comparative Analysis of Black-Box Optimization Methods for Weather Intervention Design" at the 25th International Conference on Computational Science, held from July 7 to July 9 at Nanyang Technological University (one-north) in Singapore.
This was my first time participating in an international conference, and it was also my first experience abroad. I was incredibly nervous leading up to my presentation, especially since it was my first oral presentation in English. However, it turned out to be a very rewarding experience.
During the presentation, I was able to apply lessons from past presentations to avoid speaking too quickly. That said, I did struggle a bit during the Q&A session, which made me realize the importance of improving my English skills. Since language ability doesn’t improve overnight, I plan to continue studying steadily so I can give an even better presentation at the next international conference I attend.
Outside of the conference, I had a great time exploring Singapore and trying the local food. The chili crab was especially delicious!
