The Complex Systems Science Laboratory will relocate from the School of Economics building to Engineering Building C1 in April 2026.
The laboratory started in the School of Economics building with a single faculty member. Although the surrounding environment differed from a typical engineering setting, several research themes were initiated there. In collaboration with Professor Sumiya of the School of Economics, a research project on locust-related swarm control was awarded a KAKENHI grant, and the foundation of the laboratory has gradually taken shape. We are grateful to the School of Economics building for the past two years.
With this move, we will establish a more substantial research space for each graduate student. The new environment in Engineering Building C1 will allow us to continue our work in a more stable and focused setting. Details such as the new room number will be announced later. While the location changes, the questions we study remain the same. We will continue our research in swarm control and complex systems science.
