In March 2026, Professor Ogura visited De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines, and delivered a research seminar.
The visit was kindly arranged by Dr. Rene Batac. Although we had previously discussed research online several times, this visit provided a valuable opportunity to meet in person and exchange ideas directly.
During the seminar, I introduced our research on the control of complex systems, focusing on how local interventions may influence the behavior of large-scale systems. The talk discussed general research directions related to swarm systems and other large interconnected systems.
The discussion session that followed was particularly stimulating. Students and researchers from De La Salle University provided many insightful comments and perspectives, leading to lively exchanges of ideas. These discussions offered new viewpoints for our research and will likely inspire future work.
This was my first visit to Manila, and I found the city vibrant and fascinating. I hope this visit will serve as the beginning of continued discussions and future collaborations with Prof. Batac and colleagues at De La Salle University.
Our laboratory actively promotes international research exchanges and collaborations with universities around the world. Students interested in working in an international research environment are always welcome to visit our lab.
